b. 16 May 1982, Manila, Philippines. As a child, Crawford sang in public including on television's That's Entertainment and appeared in films. Educated at Manila's International Christian Academy, he moved to the USA at the age of 11. At 14, he was a backing dancer for Michael Jacksonand appeared at 1995's MTV Video Music Awards. Multilingual (his mother is Filipino, his father American), Crawford became a popular singer in the 90s, especially in the Far East and Europe. During these years, Crawford lived in Paris and London, then moved to New York City at the end of the decade and by the mid-00s was resident in Los Angeles. His second album, 2002's Ride, was successful in France and a single from it, "Trackin'", went platinum. Other successful European singles include "When You Think About Me" and "You Didn't Expect That".
In 2007, Crawford hosted the Philippines reality television show, M.O.V.E. Meanwhile, his growing interest in production led to his taking a studio engineering course at New York University. Crawford has written his autobiography and his life story was traced on Philippines television's Maalaala Mo Kaya.
