As one of the chief purveyors of the late 1980s UK rave culture sound--a mix of techno, trance, and house--Oakenfold was involved in some of the scene's most legendary events, remixed a variety of artists, including New Order and Massive attack, and toured with the Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, and U2. By the 2000s Oakenfold's iconic status placed him in the Guinness Book of Records as the World's Most Successful Club DJ.
