b. Matthew James Willis, 8 May 1983, Tooting, London, England. Willis enjoyed major commercial success during his time as a member of the popular UK pop rock trio Busted, who were regulars in the national charts from 2001 until their demise in early 2005. In addition to playing bass and contributing vocals, Willis was also responsible for co-writing a number of the band's biggest hits. Following Busted's messy demise, Willis announced he would be launching a solo career on the Mercury Records label. Following a lengthy spell in the recording studio, "Up All Night", was released in May 2006. Catchy and revealing a more rock-orientated approach than Busted's bubblegum pop, the single deservedly reached the UK Top 10. The follow-up "Hey Kid" was another strong effort and also reached the upper regions of the UK singles charts.
